Very cool looking game

When you say "My ironclad game," you actually mean "someone else's ironclad game, which had nothing to do with me," don't you? :)

Bosco0520 Jul 2015 3:30 p.m. PST

Mr Tango is just referring to the title of my blog post – which actually starts with the words "my ironclad game…."

It doesn't bother me a bit, not sure why you care

The game was a lot of fun to put on even if the premise is a bit silly. We used a stripped down version of Sail and Steam Navies for the rules which worked well. The gaming mat was a last minute decision – it's marine grade vinyl – used for boat cushions and worked really well.

Miles, you – as game creator, presenter etc – get the credit for your excellent game. That's my point.

I saw this in person and there were some very nicely done sratch-built ships on the board. Rules were of interest to me as well. Good presentation over all.

Most of my ships are from Thoroughbred Miniatures who make fantastic models

There must be some confusion regarding who's ironclad game belongs to the rightful owner. Tango01 this was an issue back in 2012 was it not?

Thank you for posting this one. It's brilliant compared to the game featured in your post from Steve the Wargamer in 2012.

Mexican Jack Squint had a point. There's always confusion regarding sources used.

Seeing this game and my interest is the ACW, would like to create a counter factual game, without a hex board, to appeal to a larger audience of gamers. So, say the demographics i.e. age range of gamers would range from the forty-something military historian to the younger ages of the easily impressed young men, 18 to 25. Perhaps attract the female gamers too.

Tango0122 Jul 2015 10:23 a.m. PST

Had a point…?

How?

It's more than clear that I pick up the original tittle of the page.

Also the owner said that!.

You are searching for problems were there are none!.

But… if you are happy with that!…Good for you!. (smile)

Had a point? That was not meant in nasty way.

Almost a "tautology" as you would say.

Although, sadly, there are people complaining, on gaming sites and blogs, that you have used their material without asking for permission … google your name and the name you have put on your profile. Yes you do pick the original titles but, you need to be aware that people, online are complaining about you publicly. Would this be bad for your reputation, in Argentina?

link See note 4 on this post.

There are a few others to complaining using your real name. Just thought you needed to know as it's defamation and slander against you, if these are untrue …. as you know your contribution to the 'Argentine Ground Forces in the Falklands War of 1982' by R Mark Davies, is an important piece of military history research.

Yes happy thank you :)

Tango0122 Jul 2015 11:18 p.m. PST

People have the right to complain… at least… I see that these good guy don't complain only about me!! (smile)…

And I'm not 14… I'm 56! (smile)

I like that basing, naval basing is something I am agonizing over, whether I get into a textured base or go with something simple like this. The white edging gives the appearance of a wake without actually making one.

Everything else looks good too, but the basing jumped at me (in a good way) first.

capncarp01 Aug 2015 6:07 a.m. PST

Wow, that looks like an Ironclad cage match with homegrown and French/British-made CSN parties involved! Sounds like a real rip-snorter of a good time!

Nerd/geek point/question here: any modifiers for the crews of the Stonewall/Wivern/Scorpion for being unfamiliar with their foreign-built vessels? (for the first few rounds of combat, that is)

Bosco0503 Aug 2015 1:24 p.m. PST

The Scorpion was under British control during the game but there were no penalties for the Stonewall – that's actually a good idea for the next run of the game

I had my hands full running the basic game so kept any alterations to a minimum

thanks
