Well, I do at any rate.
grin

See my discussion earlier of current ranges available.

Ideal solution would be to have raggedly clothed bodies with a variety of heads.

Disco Joe18 Jul 2015 7:47 a.m. PST

Would be nice if you could get King's Mountain Miniatures to do that since they already have the head variants.

Winston Smith18 Jul 2015 8:23 a.m. PST

Oh yes.
One or two bodies are "ragged". Fine "campaign dress".
But it would be nice to see a few more ragged poses.

Could we also add some ragged militia?

Winston Smith18 Jul 2015 9:05 a.m. PST

Of course!

zippyfusenet18 Jul 2015 10:27 a.m. PST

Actually, militia would be wearing their own clothes. So diverse, but not so ragged. The poor darn Continentals had to wait for Congress to appropriate and for the quartermaster to issue. It was between issues that they got ragged.

As did the stalwart British, the old Richard Scollins art of the different armies and units did a marvellous job in the old Military Modelling back in the 80s.? those depicted in his art are what's needed.
Cheers

Give it up, John unless you are prepared to do them yourself.

To have 16 figures sculpted costs 2,000. To say nothing of molds, metal and shipping costs. Total costs for 100 runs of figures pushes the total to over 4,500.

For what? So that you and 5 other posters here will buy one or two packs?

Eureka tried it and did some wonderful sculpts. He used backers money to do it, like Kickstarter. You'll notice that he never did any more.
Why? Because it's just not economical and it's a tremendous money loser. The demand is just not there. And if you think it is, then go the Kickstarter route.

So, feel free. I know that I'm not doing it.

Sorry to be so down, but I know the costs. And it's just not worth it.

Try painting your Continentals with faded blue or brown coats and add some elbow and knee patches converting with paint. Paint a blob of black on an elbow or knee and then fill in the black with a lighter color. You can also create tears in the elbow or knee areas by painting a sliver of black and the painting a stripe of flesh ( leave a black border around the flesh color for contrast.

Bill, I do see your point. Very valid indeed. On another note can we expect to see anything at all new in your range of figures or is what you have it?

Winston Smith19 Jul 2015 5:21 a.m. PST

I talked to Nic from Eureka at a convention. He told me that they were a very brisk seller. He went on to make ragged dragoons and ragged artillerists.
As for ragged infantry , the line already had 20+ different figures.

These, along with the Glover's Marbleheaders and FIW Highlanders in campaign dress, were the springboard to Eureka's highly successful Sge of Reason range.

"As for ragged infantry , the line already had 20+ different figures."

They why do you need more?

Winston Smith20 Jul 2015 5:06 a.m. PST

Why did I buy a bunch of backwoods militia from YOU that I had no real need for? I bought them because they looked cool.
And why did I buy two units of your Highlanders, when I already had "enough" Highlanders? Because they looked cool.
Are you suggesting I shouldn't have bought these figures from you, simply because I didn't really "need" them?

nevinsrip20 Jul 2015 6:57 p.m. PST

Yes !!!

LOL LOL

nevinsrip20 Jul 2015 7:02 p.m. PST

Actually John, I'm just saying that there comes a point where certain specialty figures are just not economical.
The Highlanders …..you needed these becasue they were actually FIGHTING, not just marching around.

Over Mt Men….nobody else makes these, so you HAVE to have them. It's the law.

I'm still holding 2 bags of Scots for you…

Thomas Mante21 Jul 2015 5:56 a.m. PST

Bill what became of the continentals I have seen you post some pictures of? Not on your blog?

nevinsrip21 Jul 2015 4:56 p.m. PST

Thomas, If I told you what happened, you wouldn't believe it.
Long story short.
3 different painters were contracted to paint the samples and provide photo's for the blog.

Each one held onto the figures for 6 months and then returned them unpainted, claiming "Painters block".

I may just blackwash them and take my own pictures just to get something on the site.

Disco Joe23 Jul 2015 3:44 a.m. PST

Bill, you still didn't answer my question.

nevinsrip23 Jul 2015 7:51 a.m. PST

Disco I'm undecided at this point.

Winston Smith23 Jul 2015 7:52 a.m. PST

Do that with the Continentals. I would also like to see pictures of the dragoons and horses.
Your Pulaski Legion heads look interesting.
