Okay, I was checking out Ebay and there is a wide range of prices for the Bandai Star Blazer's ships. I don't suppose there is a correlation between price and size, right? Are they all to the same "scale" or is it "box scale" once again? How do you know how big each starship/spaceship is without contacting each seller to measure? |

Usually you can click on the image and see the scale on the box. |

OK. First of all, go directly to HobbyLink Japan for detailed specs, etc (and probably better price points than "FeeBay!"): link link The Mecha Colle kits are "box scale." The larger kits in the Yamato 2199 series are all being done in either 1/1000 scale or 1/72 scale for the fighters.

So, Bandai Space Battleship Yamato, Star Blazers #7 Baruze Ship comes in a box about 15.3 x 8.5 x 3.9 cm and Bandai Space Battleship Yamato, Star Blazers #8 Nasuka Ship is in a 15.3 x 8.5 x 3.9 cm box also. Roughly 6 1/32 inches 3 11/32 x 1 17/32. So the ship should be about 4.5 inches long? Might work for the fleet scale fighters by Bergstrom Studios? |

Mute, yes indeed, the box scale models are perfect for Full Thrust and the carriers work just fine with fleet scale fighters:
Those are my EDF gashopon and box scale kits repurposed as my Imperial Terran Navy armada for Full Thrust. The bases are the old Geo-hex official Full Thrust 12-point turn clock stands.
Here's one of the new Yamato 2199 mini kits shown with the older generation larger scale EDF cruiser kits and a Silent Death fighter to give you a sense of their relative sizes:
I recently finished two of the new tri-deck box scale Garmillas carrier kits for my Imperial Terran Navy, so I'll see if I can get another blog post up soon covering my various nefarious starship projects of late…

I don't have any Silent Death fighters so I will wait for my packages to arrive and see how things compare with Studio Bergstrom fighters (both 1" and "Fleet" scale) before I get too involved with these. |

HobbyLink Japan is "old school" (no currency choices, only, I assume, Japanese Yen) in format? |

The site does 'conversions' to dollars and euros on individual ship displays, which 'I think' is locked in at check out. Generally, I can look at a few ships and make adjustment when looking at the list. I do admit it'd be better if you could 'set' currency. Doug |

*ahem* I KNEW it was easier than that; if you hover the price in Yen in the list, it'll show Euros and Dollars. *blush* Doug |
