Am re-looking at my old Traveller rules (CT = Classic Traveller), and thinking about running a few small engagements with RPG-sized vessels, and perhaps a bit larger, so am curious to see if anyone has converted their stats to Full Thrust?

I have Power Projection Fleet, and know you can use it, and the Fifth Frontier Thrust rules, but really, these are geared to larger fleet actions (at least from what I've read).

I'm thinking about perhaps running some small, FT battles in the CT universe (since I'm more familiar with the FT rules), say pitting some small merchants, scouts, close escorts, fighters, and other craft against one another, in raids, or for blockade running/smuggling scenarios, etc.. Might even venture up to about 1,000 – 1,200 tons, for some fun with system defense boats, and patrol cruisers, etc., at the high end.

So, has anyone done that before, and if so, what hull tonnage to damage points conversion ratios did you use?

Also, how do you handle hull armor, hit location, critical hits, etc., for vessels?

Not sure, but think perhaps FT might be simpler to game these types of battles, especially since I'm more familiar with those rules already.

Thoughts?

There's Power Projection Escort, which is all smaller craft. Have you looked at it? (Fleet was the sequel.)

I have both, and the Escort version plays very differently since the ships are so much smaller.

Might be of help.
