It's from a 2008 series – Armored Trooper VOTOMS: Pailsen Files.

Quite a good 12 part series set before the original. These troopers were just used as decoy landing.

Even as a decoy that whole thing with the flyers dropping "telephone poles" so that the votoms could fire a grapple on them just seems ridiculous to me.
