Crocodile Games has the Basti range from Wargods of Aegyptus. They might be a little too Egyptian for what you need. But they are REALLY nice and half the price of the Alkemy models.

Not sure if you can still get them but Hundred Kingdoms Miniatures had an entire line of "cat" folk, Lions and Tigers and Bear…..er Panthers.
