* Child executioners, with pistols in hand, stand behind the condemned men
* A giant ISIS flag hangs in the background in the ancient monument
* A baying crowd of men and boys gathered in the amphitheatre to watch ISIS has released a significant new execution video from the historic city of Palmyra, in the Syrian desert. Child executioners are shown in the video being forced to brutally slaughter a group of more than 25 regime soldiers. The video shows the soldiers lined up on their knees on the stage of the Roman amphitheatre, which had formerly been used for an annual festival in the city. A baying crowd of men and boys gathered in the restored ruin waiting for the slaughter, many wearing military uniforms and headscarves…"

Yes, nothing new about brutality. And when the civilized world sees it, the only recourse is to crush it with something even more powerful: resolve. The trouble in the Middle East is that "resolve" is lacking in too many people. They have had zero confidence in leadership, gov'ts, even religion, for too long. They have nowhere, no one, to turn to and escape through action. So IS caliphate is the biggest game in town by default. The Kurds will not bow. The Iranians will look to seize the vacuum and fill it. The House of Saud will punish as long as it lasts. The Egyptians will crush dissent and radical religionists. All those not supporting any of these "regimes" are waiting to be swept up or swept off. That is by far the majority of the populations of the ME…. |

That is the point of 'recruiting' child soldiers – they believe what you tell them. Of course, with proper indoctrination so do the 18 year olds… |
