During WW2 RN destroyers would hoist a black flag to signal when they were on a depth charge attack run. I just wondered if anyone knew what shape it was; triangular or rectangular?

Basically triangular but did not come to a point (approx. 69" x 20"). It was used close up and at the dip.

Cheers Joe – much appreciated!

All,

Managed to find these 1940 RN signal flags:

The black pennant is in there.
