Everyone,

Me and a couple of my gaming buddies are finally going to give a campaign a try; instead of just playing one off games.

I am having difficulty finding a good set of system agnostic campaign rules to string our games together though. I was going to try a simple tree campaign where the games progress through depending on which side wins, but I am looking for something a little more in depth with some background rules for supply, maybe a map node to plan attacks etc. Just something to add a little flavour in between games.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks

Don't know what game system you're using but do you know of VBAM? Victory by Any Means? It's a generic campaign system, originally designed to be a background for starship combat but it's probably adaptable to any system. Uses node-based movement, has economy and diplomacy and so forth. Though it's probably meatier than what you're looking for.

It has for example been adapted from Starship combat to Age of Sail combat so for a ground node-based map it would probably work as well. Just use the economy to build land units instead of ships and play out your combats with the game system of choice rather than the quick-playing game included.

The 2nd edition of the game has recently come out.
