In a departure from our usual land-locked battles, the Gentlemen Wargamers turned Sea Dogs for a day to fight out a Royal Navy VS French Corsairs scenario, set during the Seven Years War. Not everything about the occasion was historically accurate, however. The picnic supper my wife cooked up was vastly superior to weevil-infested ship's biscuit and the fine scotch we were sipping would never be mistaken for a grog ration.
There's a blow-by-blow recounting of the action on my Reports page: warartisan.com/reports Or, if you'd rather just look at the pictures: link Enjoy, Jeff |

Proving, once again, that the Royal Navy really only 2 signals in European or North American waters: (1) Keep to windward of the enemy. (2) Engage the enemy more closely. Great game Jeff. |

Very Nice AAR and table. I must say it looks more like North America shore line than Northern European shores. Maybe very Northern European, Norway, Denmark or Sweden. This is only to my mind. Not seen U.S. Northern coast line. I was just waiting for the Native Indians to come in canoe's to take the away the prizes from both sides. Than may give you a new idea! Be safe Rory |

Does indeed look like the coast of Maine (USA) and New Brunswick (CA). Visited there many times. Very well done. |

It's not surprising that the coastlines remind you of North America, since they were originally made for games on the Great Lakes. I didn't really feel up to making a new set for a one-off scenario on the coast of France. Now, when I get to the Barbary Wars, that'll be a different matter entirely! Jeff |

Jeff, Love your ships, love your set-up too. I know that your Barbary war, ships and set-up will also look eater-able too. Be safe Rory |

Rory, Don't give Jeff ideas. He's already got some cutters and crew on the stocks, now who does First Nations in 1/300? |
