As part of the "Epic Battles" theme for our regional convention, Bayou Wars, I ran a game focused on the Prussian attack against the right flank of the French army at Plancenoit. For a brief battle report, please visit Col Campbell's Barracks at:

I used Sam Mustafa's new rule set Blucher.

Hi Guys,

Tricky 'cos compare Blucher's visual appeal with General de Brigade!

Number of figs/size of the figs on the table is pretty flexible with Bluecher. I think you can get just as much visual appeal if pushing large amounts of figs on the table is your goal.

I personally have been moving towards less figures, even in my battalion level game (1:100) as pushing lots of lead on the table takes up precious playing time at the time of the game, not to mention the time to paint, size requirements of the table and cost to procure.

Less can be more.

Jim, putting on a new rule set during a convention is tough, kudos to you. Nice AAR and good pictures.
