Bushy Run Battlefield26 Jun 2015 8:16 a.m. PST

We are having our games day, Con On the Run, tomorrow (Saturday June 27) from 0900 to 1700.

The event will feature a number of historical games all played in the Stone Room at our museum.

Games will include battles from the Texas War of Independence, the French and Indian War, the British in the Sudan, the Korean War, World War II and the American Civil War.

Bushy Run Battlefield is located in Jeannette, PA, about 45 minutes East of Pittsburgh. It was the site of an engagement between British and Native American forces in 1763 during Pontiac's War.

If you have any questions about the event feel free to contact us by phone at 724-527-5584 or email at bushyrunbattlefield@gmail.com

Our website is bushyrunbattlefield.com

Cost is $5 USD for the public and free to Bushy Run Battlefield Heritage Society members. All proceeds will go to keeping the Battlefield and Museum open for future generations.

How often to you run these game days and what is attendance like – if I were to consider putting on a game?

Bushy Run Battlefield26 Jun 2015 12:26 p.m. PST

We had our first one last year. We had about 20 people attend. We had a second one last year that was not quite as well attended so we will probably only have one this year.

I expect there to be about 30 people there tomorrow from the number of people that have contacted me to this point to say they were coming.

I think there's three of us coming from Johnstown, so that's 10% of your expected attendance right off the bat!

Pictors Studio26 Jun 2015 8:49 p.m. PST

Oh, well then maybe it will be more than 30 – perhaps 33! :)

historygamer28 Jun 2015 6:15 a.m. PST

How was it?

I enjoyed myself. It seemed from what I heard from others that was generally the sentiment.

Here are some photos of the event plus other commentary:
