While the USAF has the most planes, it is still pretty amazing that the US Army has 5,000 aircraft

I must admit I never got the whole "self destruct" thing – even on sci-fi shows, I could not see the point of a device whose sole purpose was to blow your ship to bits

The kamikaze base flag myth reminded me of what the outgoing Crown forces did when they handed over NYC at the end of the Revolutionary War, greasing the flagpole and cutting the halyard so that the Americans could not raise their flag.

In the late 1960s there was a huge spat between the Army and the Air Force because the Army actually did have more aircraft. Congress had to step in and settle the issue, by limiting the number of aircraft the Army was allowed to have. This was a major news story when I was in the Army.

What bunk! Of course there is gold in Ft. Know. I saw Goldfinger. There was tons of gold in the vault.

Wait…what do you mean that wasn't filmed on location? That's just a Hollywood myth.

The myth is that there is NO gold in Ft. knox, not there is gold.

Oh my lord. I spent an hour and a half reading through that Bleeped text you linked to Tango. I even found myself reading up on the impending Lizardman invasion. I honestly have trouble believing people are THAT crazy. How does this happen?
