The French design is taking shape. Should have a squadron of four boats finished tomorrow night…

That giant fin is so French. Nice.

I see you agreed with me about the turrets. grin That one looks much better with the swoopy rounded theme. Good work.

The overall aesthetic for my fleets will be the flatter ironclads (as opposed to the inverted hulls).

Yes, swoopy turrets instead of a box. I like the old box shape not sure who will make their turrets that way. I have a different idea for the US….

Also, working on a series of web pages about the project that should be up in a day or two…

Perhaps Her Majesty's Royal Air Fleet will adopt boxy turrets in their rush to extend Brittania's power into the skies…

I can't wait to see what you come up with for the US and UK.

Shouldn't that life preserver on the superstructure be a parachute? Or maybe a bat-like Victorian hang glider?

And now I'm imagining an assault by a crowd of such hangglider troops swooping down onto the deck of one of these airboats to take it by storm in an aerial boarding action…

It wouldn't be hard to print and cut out a zillion hanggliders. Much easier, in fact, than attaching a 6mm figure to the bottom of each.

Exactly what I had in mind as well, though I thought I could rationalize. 'As most engagements would be over water, at a height which offered the possibility of survival of a jump, the idea of ring preservers seemed to make sense. Until someone discovered how the water ripped said ring out of ones hands…'

As for 'jump troops', I always figured something like Birdmen of Catrazza had possibilities. In 6mm, almost any creature with wings could be painted to pass.

I think there may have even been winged something in the old Epic figs. Natch, gliding down to the deck with active resistance suggests suicide troops.

LOL The life preservers were just a "what is on the sides of ships" brain fart. Though the idea of ships landing on water has intriguing possibilities…

My background makes grapple and board important in Skyship to Skyship combat…

If you didn't drop the images into a forum of pedants, no one would have commented… or noticed. ;->=

But who else would be interested in VSF? Fluff in this genre is remarkably hard and sciency. grin
