I have gotten the urge to play a number of older computer games, but ran into a hitch. Where can one currently get the patches the companies put out for their games to fix the various problems that showed up? There are games I am particularly interested in are : Waterloo and The Operational Art of War I by Talonsoft, Close Combat II and III by Microsoft, Harpoon and SSG's Carriers at War. What makes the situation even more annoying is I think they are all on a Zip Disk but my current computer lacks a 3.5 inch drive and a serial port so I can not attach my Zip Drive to it.

There are 3.5 USB disk drives available. I bought one from Amazon and it works great.

I don't believe we patched Close Combat. I added a frame rate cap on 3, but I can't recall if 2 had it or not. If not, it would be completely unplayable on a modern machine. Technology marches on… :)

I had no idea the Close Combat series had been retooled and re-released! So glad to hear that, thanks for the info. Favorite computer game series ever.

I'm very curious to know where they got the rights--are they here on TMP?
