Is my old brain wandering, or do I really recall someone, sometime, having produced a Wooden Ships variant that covered the Spanish Armada period?

Or do I need to be shown the way to the care home?

There was an Armada supplement for Ship o' the Line, the miniatures game by S. Craig Taylor which went on to be developed by Battleline and AH into WS&IM.

Don't think it was ever done for the revised game.

Hope this helps and puts off the care home for a while. Where would you store all your games anyway ?

Cheers Mark! Your reply does stave off the inevitable ( for a while) -I'd forgotten the Ship o' the Line link.

To answer you question: If I can persuade Matron to take on the roll of Queen Bess, there'll be space enough.

@ Mark: Do the Inshore Squadron still have an active web site?

Mark Barker21 Jun 2015 3:40 p.m. PST

We still have a website up but I would not describe it as active :-)

Basically we do demos for Museums and Societies on request (last one was for the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich for last year's Trafalgar Day) and 1 or 2 game shows a year.

Will be doing a game for the Sunday of the Naval Wargames Weekend at Explosion in mid-July. We would be there all weekend but the venue changed the date to one where I had a prior family engagement.

… and having two young sons kind of limits the time I can spend writing the website as I can't get near the bloody computer until after they have gone to bed !

Best wishes,

Cheers, Mark. Many thanks for the link; I haven't seen the page in awhile.
