She's finished her second FOW Vietnam vehicle. I've been painting for 42 years, she's been at it a few months, and she's already better than I am. Discouraging.

Don't let it bother you. If she does that well and enjoys it, great. I have yet to see any truly crappy paint jobs on the table (except my own of course). Even my own work isn't what I would consider "unpreventable" Tell her to keep up the good work. Maybe she will game with you one day.

One thing to consider… she probably learnt from you then improved on that. You just handed over 42 years of experience to someone… likely they are going to improve pretty quickly :P

Looks good though.

And she doesn't have a lot of bad habits to unlearn, nor does she slip back to "how she used to do it."

Hey, could be worse, she could be nagging you to get that crap out of the garage/attic/basement/house…

Consider yourself lucky.

Congratulations!

By the way, how did she model the aerials?

That is why several of us got married in the first place :)

My Wife is much better than I, as well.
True 25mm figures with pupils, and Iris's. Iris's with the slightly ribbed look to them. Unreal!
Sadly, she doesn't really like to paint figures so there are only a few.

She's amazing!
I'm stupid lucky, and I know it!

Don't feel bad – No. 2 son paints better than me and I suspect given his progress the Little Prince will soon be there too

Lucky you!

Lucky you she paints and she paints well.

Skeptic, the aerials are from a very large old paintbrush. The size you'd use for slapping on paste to put up a billboard. But really, bristles from any large paintbrush would do.

DS6151, how about pictures? Of the figures with eyes, not the wife.
