The French AeroFlot have launched a new Skyship in response to the Prussian armaments production. We must ask, therefore, where is the Admiralty? Is this great nation to be consigned to the status of pauper, because the Admiralty have not the will or perhaps the wisdom to act.

Where is the Prime Minister in all this?

Photo shows a French ship in the concept stages. I want the French ships to be very round and curved, with square turrets.

This turret is too large and the air recognition pattern will be changed to a more "French" color as the red really jars with the overall colors of the ship – yellow maybe?

All scratch built with paper and balsa. Still in need of some "steam punk" bits like funnels….

This looks like too much fun. I can't stop checking in….

You should stick with the "round" look for the French turrets too. I think that you'll be happier with the aesthetic results. The real-life French were using round turrets until the very eve of the Great War, and preferred single gun turrets until long after everyone else had gone to double turrets. Save that boxy turret shape for the squat, boxy, ugly but functional US Air Fleet, and put two guns in it (the Americans overgunned everything).

Would a long, pointy nose be too hard to add? I'm thinking something kind of like an ancient galley ram:

USS Alarm

The only way I can think to do that is with a rough cut of the balsa and a helluva lot of shaping with sandpaper. Of course, if you're any good at resin casting, you could then crank out a few dozen…

The only way I can think to do that…

Actually, I think it looks like the prow of an overturned yacht. I'd think his first search would be in aisles of cheap toy boats. ;->=

"Where is the Admiralty?"
The answer may lie with the phrase "Pour encourager les autres".
