Very soon now Perponcher will begin his dance with Ney at Quatre Bras!

Okay, Erwin, I surrender! Your kind offer just too good to miss.

DeRuyter16 Jun 2015 10:12 a.m. PST

I already have all three books and I am reading "Quatre Bras, Perponcher's Gamble" in preparation for my tour of the battlefield tomorrow (I know I should be there today, etc.)

Erwin will you be at any of the events this week?

E Muilwijk17 Jun 2015 1:41 a.m. PST

Hi DeRuyter… I was planning a trip to the Dutch cavalry monument to honour the fallen, but then the cat got stung by a bee this morning, so ended up at the vet. He's okay now; angle removed.
So, no, that's it. I'll enjoy it here at home and tomorrow with the Dutch army.

See how both the Prince of Orange and his brother Frederik found some suitable places to spend the night of 17th June, the day before the big battle.

Every my has to move on after a victory on the battlefield. Likewise on 19 June 1815, when Captain Nepveu distributed the orders to the Netherlands troops to march to Nivelles… the start of the march to Paris.

I hope you have enjoyed the few news items on Waterloo and its 200 years celebrations, or even enjoyed other newsitems posted in the past on my website.

Just got my copies, and glad I did. I've only had chance to glance at the first volume, but it gives much food for thought. Looking at the alternative plans for the defence of Holland before the one finally adopted, it would make for a very different "what if?" 1815 campaign if the decision had been taken to defend from behind the Meuse instead of a forward defence in front of Brussels.

Received my copies two days ago. Thank you, Erwin!

Hi,
I was very interested in the special deal for the 3 books and ordered as instructed;
However I just received the 3 books today…and
all 3 are exactly the same !!!! I got 3 copies of "1815 From mobilisation to war" instead of the 3 different books;
Please advise how to rectify the situation,
Thx
PS : you can even write in Dutch – my native tongue :)
