Hi guys,

I'm particularly interested in an on line source for French infantry wearing 1806 – 1812 uniforms (Peninsular) as I have a rush painting job (48 voltigeurs from 6 regiments) to do by the weekend.

What is the best, easiest, on line source to follow.

Also, for future reference, what are the best source books? My Ospreys, due to their brevity, are a mess and my Haythornthwaite is out on loan and I can't remember if it's any good anyway.

Thanks,

James

I like Martin Windrow & Gerry Embleton – Military Dress of the Peninsular War, no idea about availability (my book was published in 1974).

For on line sources look at:

On the book front, Elting's Napoleonic Uniforms, V 1,2 are nice.

On the book front, you want Lucien Rousselot, Napoleon's Army 1790-1815.

In short, the best book is an index of books. When it comes to uniforms, chacun a son gout.

Definitely the Rousselot book or the uniform plates.
