Looks to me like the best way is to drill out the two (rivets?) at each end of the chassis… right? |

That's what I've read. Drill out, or Dremel them out (using a grinding tip). Then re-seal with epoxy glue, when done. |

Yep, that's the best way to do it. Grind or drill the rivets out. |

You can also use a hammer and give it a big hit. This is only useful if you are making battle damaged scenic items. |
