Kingsleypark's Wargaming Menagerie

The kit has been out for a few years now, but I've just got round to building it…..

Link corrected – link

Very nice, I have just built an armour fast version, but the PSC has a bit of extra detail, especially on the track and the 'relaxed' top part of the track looks good and I really like the option of providing two turret types, that is a great advantage for the gamer of this particular tank.

Thanks for correcting the link norm.

I'm still trying to fathom out how to do these "link" things…..

Cheers Tim. My bad for not knowing about the commander's hatch although that would probably explain why the left cupola on the 85 turret is larger.

Mind you in my defence I took the picture on the back of the box to suggest the commander went in the right hand hatch. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it…..

I was recently pleased to notice the Kingsleypark blog had come back to life…

That hull MG is actually an armored barrel shroud that protected most of the MG barrel (the gun wasn't permanently installed and meant to be taken if the crew bailed out). On the PSC model it sticks out way too far.

I bought some of these when they were first released and the "85mm gun" is horrendously over sized, more like a 122mm or maybe a telephone pole.

Yes the original gun is a bit big, but iirc PSC produced a better scaled barrel a year or two ago.

For wargaming though it's fine. I still prefer it to the Airfix one by a long chalk.

Roger that. I thought PSC had retooled that gun but wasn't sure – and yes, it is way better than the Airfix kit!

SealladhArd18 Jul 2015 2:29 a.m. PST

@number4 – yes this kit has the re-tooled barrel (at least it had a sticker on the box saying that). I don't have any of the older kits to do a size comparison though.

The hull MG barrel is chunky but anything smaller and my fingers wouldn't cope trying to hold it to stick to the hull!
