I met a cousin of this author over the weekend, and dug into this website. Eric Wittenberg seems to have a passion for the Union cavalry! Has anyone read any of these works?

I've read:
One Continuous Fight
Plenty of Blame to Go Around
Protecting the Flank

All very good books. Informative, readable, fill voids otherwise not well covered.

…. I actually recently purchased Stephen Z Starr's 3 Volume set, "The Union Cavalry in the Civil War".

Excellent work – recommended.

His books are very good and I'm not saying that just because he's a friend. And yes, Eric is definitely a Cavalry Guy.

Garde de Paris: I believe I have read all his ACW cavalry books, and a couple of magazine articles, (if I missed one it was certainly unintentional). I have limited my interest to the Eastern theatre but IMHO, his books are the best works on Cavalry operations I have read. Thanks, John Miller

Hello All,
I definitely recommend this author. This past Christmas my son bought me "The Devils to Pay" John Buford at Gettysburg, A History and Walking Tour by Eric. This is an excellent book on Buford's actions before, during, and after the Battle of Gettysburg. I have always been drawn to that particular action on the first day and Eric really lays it out in layman terms. The maps, photos, descriptions, history, and tour info are fantastic. This book will definitely be going with me on my next visit. I strongly recommend this book for anyone with an interest on Buford and his cavalry in the Gettysburg Campaign.
take care,
Keith
