Nice work, I'd be proud to put those on any table. |

I'd love to see Alan Perry's face when he reads that Perry figures are "too detailed" and thus not worth bothering with. I'm constantly jealous when I see the Perrys spending their time making medieval/ACW/ACI/WW2 stuff because I want them to make Napoleonics 24/7 – but with some of the things I've read on Napoleonic forums and blogs I can hardly say I blame them if they decide to never make another Nap fig! |

LH – did you read that blog post properly? It was not, IMHO, a critique of the Perrys, but an armission by an honest man that they had too much detail for him, with his work/life/available time. It praised the skill of the Perrys whilst acknowledging they were not right for him. And i personally admire that honesty band candour. Too often "we" can allow ourselves to be bullied by the works of art seen on the internet, when in reality "our" lives don't need or require such perfection The So enjoy everyone's different take on a marvellous hobby |

It's because they are hussars…….that is asking for hard work……………try the highland kilted regiments next….. |

The problem with written language is it's often impossible to interpret the sentiments of the writer. Quite often it's the sentiment of the reader which frames the perceived intent of the posting. I try to avoid arguments on this forum because I also don't know who I might actually be arguing with. If I did; for example, I may not bother as people can be both confident and wrong at the same time. Lord Hill, I certainly take your point – whether it's in jest or passion. The last thing I would want to do is dissuade the Perry's from rolling out more plastic ranges in Napoleonic or any other period. I would never tell anyone not to bother with them and if you re-read my blog you'll see that I intend to continue my experimental experience. I won't criticize plastic figures – I'm not interested in that sort of debate. |

True… I have several regiments of hussars, Austrian and Brunswick and British that I always put off painting due to the geberal dislike I have for painting cavalry horses and their tack combined with tons of lace. Some of it being YELLOW which is my least favourite colour to paint. So I'm forever booting them down the queue. I think ive painted 1 kilted Highlander when I was 16 and since then decided to stick to formations with sensible costumes. These miniatures though are first rate. Most envious. |

The figs look great by the way – lovely painting (and great detail!) :) |

Wow! Those are nice. Makes my 15mm MiniFigs 2d generation British 10th Hussars that I painted up in 1982, look pathetic! |

I find perry miniatures hard to paint, hussars or no hussars. I'm painting some russian perry hussars, and my problem is the very slighly folds in the uniforms, there is almost nothing for me to shade and highlight….
I do se there are tiny tiny folds on the arms, but hell if I can do anything with those folds… |
