Hi all, I've been working towards a 10mm collection of troops for the Battle of Talavera and have begun work on the Spanish contingent and just wanted to post up my results so far, General Cuesta and Zayas' 1st Division.

All figures are 10mm Magister Militium, except for Cuesta's carriage which is a Pendraken 17/18th century carriage, pulled by some of Pendraken's supply mules. Cuesta had been injured at the battle of Medellin and so was forced to travel around in a carriage pulled by some mules, and I think it makes for a nice and different command base. As you look at them the infantry on the left represent Militia and the 2 other units represent regular units of varying qualities, conscript (centre) and trained (right).

Wow, those are really, really nice! I love the Spanish army, it's my favorite army of the period….

Nicely done xccamx.

My current project is the same army with the same manufactures.

Very nice! Figures are a bit on the big side though…haha, just kidding. 10mm is my 2nd favorite scale.

Yep very nice. I've also got a soft spot for Napoleonic Spanish.

Very nice excellent paint job. Spanish always a fun army to play.

It's always better to play with the weaker sides than all the better ones anyway. Great looking figures and I look forward to seeing some more soon.

Back in the 80s, a club I belonged to ran a Napoleonic competition using the original Newbury rules (the 1:20 version). At the last minute, the committee decided to add a twist by putting the armies into a pool and you had to pick one other than your own. The timing meant nobody could paint up anything new, so all the "gamey" types who'd brought "Imperial Garde" armies were stymied. However, it was sufficiently successful that everyone agreed it should be re-run the following year.

Year 2 – you have never seen so many 15mm Spanish and Neapolitan troops under one roof in your entire life!
