Andrew Roberts is doing this three parter on Boney – not at all related to his recent book then.

No doubt freely available for all TMPers to pick holes in and generally poo poo but at least someone at the Beeb cares enough to commission it!

Good spot – thanks

Episode 1 is on 10th June-9.30-10.30pm
Episode 2 is on 17th June-9-10pm
Episode 3 is on 24th June-9.30-10.30pm

I watched Wellington: The Iron Duke Unmasked, which was okay in some places, but I'm really looking forward to this three-parter. I think we're all going to be spoiled this year, I'm pleased to say.

Forgot to mention that Andrew Roberts is also doing 5 x 15 min programmes on BBC Radio 4. They start from June 15th, Mon-Fri, 1.45-2pm. Title Napoleon-The Man and the Myths.

Thanks, I can only imagine the amount of stuff I miss on Radio 4 each year like most people I guess, radio is just musical background noise. It's really annoying when you actually do make time to listen and hear good programs and think about what you have't heard!

BBC i-player is my go to at bedtime. Some great drama and historical programmes.

Sorry-repeated post.

For something different but Napoleonic-ish, there is always the entertaining TV series Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell (9pm,Sundays,BBC1)

It is mainly about the reintroduction of magic in England but it is set during the Napoleonic period and England decides to use magic against Napoleon. I believe the episode on the 31st May involved one of the characters being in the Peninsular using his magic against the French. I have it recorded but not watched it yet, so can't say how it went. But in one episode there was a fleet ships made out of water which formed a blockade against the French.

A nice bit of fun.

Well worth a watch, episode one takes time to gather speed but it's worth sticking with.
