A follow up to my earlier question on decals. Those are on the way, so thanks to everyone who gave advice.

I have constructed my Armaments in Miniature 15mm Horsa and its nice. I would like the paint job to do it justice

I know the bulk of the glider is flat black. My research shows the Camo scheme is the same as the British night Bombers, Green and Dark Earth.

Does anyone have a paint brand/ colour number suggestion for those colors?

I have never done an aircraft before, so this is all new to me.

Thanks,

Guy

The green would be a fairly dark green. Dark Earth is a dark brown/tan colour.

I use Vallejo Military Green and Flat Earth for my British planes.

Remember that the sides are completely black – this includes the tailfin. Only the upper surfaces of wings, tailplane and the very top of the fuselage are camouflaged.

A lot of people mistakenly paint the tailfin in camo rather than black.

I wouldn't trust the colours since it's a painting and on the computer screen but this guy usually makes a serious effort to be accurate.

Dark Green – Humbrol 116 or 163, Tamiya XF-81, Vallejo 893
Dark Earth – Humbrol 29, Tamiya XF-52, Vallejo 873
Night (note that this wasn't a pure black, but a very dark blue) – Revell 9 Anthracite is the best from the pot version, otherwise any matt black with a little dark blue mixed in will do.
