I agree with Terrement. I'm not a fan of figures posed upon chunks of random scenery. They look absurd in all but one very specific location. In fact, I much prefer simple, understated bases altogether.
Some people get carried away making super detailed, gorgeous but, to my mind, redundant bases. It's all very well having a soldier stomping through twisted reckage amidst ruins, but he looks pretty ridiculous inside an immaculate spacestation or in a jungle.
Simple is best!
