Thanks Phil, I enjoyed it, I just thought it was quiet! |

Looks like it was an excellent show. Quiet can be helpful. One of my favorite game opponents is 73 and rather hard of hearing. We meet at a 'local' gamestore to play. The place gets a lot of business later in the day and can get quite loud. Thus we sometimes need to yell at each other to hear what each is saying. Once a mutual friend came over to our table and asked about why we were so angry with each other. We both turned to him with astonished looks on our faces. No anger involved. Just high volume communication. |

Thanks for the report. I was pleased to see the Hovel's Model of Hougoumont with the slate and tile colours that match mine :^) |

Thanks guys, Rrobby, that's a funny story. I can just imagine two fellas bellowing at each other over a table of toy soldiers… Condotta, it was a great looking board alright! |

Cheers for the report, I was committed with work so couldn't go. Heard a few other comments that it was quiet. I much prefered the random layout of the old Octagon, it was a pain as a trader and displayer (done both) but it had atmosphere and character. New place is just a big sports hall. I agree the old setting at the Octagon for all its faults had the character and facilities needed for a great show, now its a same sports hall the shows are all generating. attendances are declining because the shows are the same as they where in the 80's and need to be more exciting to entertain the people who pay to come to the shows, more participation games, competitions, talks etc. as the internet draws the sales and gets more interactive, they need to think why are people going to the shows? |

Exactly the same question is currently being asked on a thread on here, on the conventions and wargames shows board, The 2 day show, is the end nigh? It was this show which sparked the general conversation. |
