" Trials allowed tank to be controlled by soldier 1km behind * Could be sent first into highly dangerous areas * Tank can reload and change weapons using specially developed systems It is one of the most hi-tech tanks ever created – and doesn't even need a driver. The US Army has revealed it has been testing the vehicle, known as Ripsaw. The 'drone tank' is controlled remotely, and can reload itself and even change weapons at the touch of a button…" Full article here link YouTube link Amicalement Armand |

The first thing I thought of when I saw this post was the Terminator Genisys game from River Horse and Warlord Games. It's life imitating wargaming…. |

The US Army has been playing with robotic tanks since the late 70s. We already have very good auto loading or liquid propellant guns, self-navigation and autonomous target location and engagement systems. The only real problem we haven't overcome getting the robot to reliably identify friend from foe, and every sci-fi horror story that goes with it. |

Didn't they try this sort of thing with automated squad support systems on tracks, trying them out in Afghanistan, only problem was the squads tended to get jumpy every time it's computer locked onto them as a potential threat. Still good to know that after the F35 debacle the US military still never tires of blowing people's money up the wall. |

It is one of the most hi-tech tanks ever created – and doesn't even need a driver. What?? The bastards! They just eliminated my old job! Grumble, grumble… Darn technology… And, as already noted, not a particularly new idea. But when they mount a 120mm…. |

After about 3-4 days without sleep … I've seen a number of "Drone" Tanks and APCs, etc. … |

The DOD also wants a Global Digital Defense Network. I think they are planning on calling it "Skynet" for short. |
