That'll teach me to sell my Funcken Lace War books just because I thought I was through with the period. *sob* Anyway…. Realizing the irony of someone who has said in the past "I paid good money for my damn books and do can you!" Asking for freebies… Any good sites with decent British uniform plates with facings? I need Bad Guys for my Sword and the Haggis game. |

One of your best bets is to look at online pictures of the portraits Morier did of all the grenadiers. It will give you an excellent idea of the facing colors and lace patterns for certain regiments. |

Although, come to think of it, with reference to both those pretty links, I think I might be right in saying grey or brown marching gaiters ought to be subsituted for the white'parade' versions for government infantry in the wilds of Inverness-shire. |

I can't say for the Jacobite period, but in the F&I period the move (after Braddock in 1755) was to black marching gaiters, often with leather tops, then into wool leggins in 1759. The black ones are likely linen blackballed, which would often fade to gray. |
