Were there any mounted crosbowmen used at that time. And if there wore I suppose they opperated as mobile foot seargents and not fire or loaded from their horse …?

Not that I have read of. Mounted missile was Turcopole, using bow and javelin. Crossbow was exclusively infantry, covered by spearmen with shields….

Mounted crossbowmen are depicted on the Freer Canteen, an inlaid metal flask with Christian motifs, early 13th century AD, Ayyubid Jazirah. The base of the Freer Canteen, with friezes of saints and horsemen including mounted crossbowmen. The frieze of horsemen on the base and an extract from The Freer Canteen by Laura T. Schneider. I not aware of a source that mentions mounted crossbowmen on the Third Crusade.
