Aside from HLBS (which made a set of 5) does anyone know of any company that makes 28mm Homo Erectus figures?

Not really. Here's an earlier thread about this topic: TMP link

EDIT: Oops. Never mind. I see you commented on it. Anyway, I did a Google search and only found the ones you mentioned.

Coolest looking Cro-Magnon & Neanderthals in 28mm I've ever seen right here:

Almost makes me want to do some Mammoth hunting, something I've never had interest in until I saw these guys!

Steve Barber Minis makes some 25 anad 28mm prehistorics – quite nice – the shaman is cool.

Yeah I have the Lucid Eye Neanderthals and Cromagnons, Also have the Steve Barber prehistoric settlement figures, and Copplestones excellent cavemen. Just wondering if there was any Homo Erectus figures out there. These would be a bit more primitive looking than Neanderthals although not as Ape like as a yeti/sasquatch type creature. HLBS mad a set of 5 Homo Erectus figures which were naked and were armed with crude weapons, antlers, clubs, bones and a hand axe. The faces were more primitive looking than Neanderthals.

One of the 4 packs of Pulp Figures Neanderthals is very primitive looking, with nude males rather than the usual heavy winter clothing, and might substitute for Homo Erectus:

Unfortunately, that line is temporarily out of production. It's supposed to be coming back.

Yes, I have some of the Pulp Neanderthals and now that you mention it some of them do seem a bit more primitive than the rest. Even their proportions are a bit long-armed, squat legged, and the faces are less human-like. I think with some minor conversions some of these might do well. Thanks for bringing them up Warren!

Midlam miniatures has two 'cavemen' which might serve:

Depends on how hairy you like your homo erectus – might be better for australopithecus or H. habilis, though.

And Arcane scenery & models have recently brought out some very nice apemen, too. Much more apelike than the previous cromagnons and neanderthals. Once again, these would probably be best suited as australopithecus, but it's up to you to decide how hairy your H. erectus are!

I have the Midlam (former MegaMini/Metal Magic) cavemen – the only trouble with them are the bikini briefs and one of them has a spear with flint tip which I don't believe Homo Erectus had. The HBLS homo erectus figures are quite hairy and are somewhat similar look otherwise.
