I want to send some 28mm figures probably 25 to get painted. Can anyone recommend a shipper that wont kill me on price. I checked some online, but first hand experience would help. Thanks. |

I too would use the US post office. They have flat rate priority mail that is a good price. Use their box. Small should be good enough for 28mm figures. I have sent stuff to Hong Kong and the UK for what I thought was a fair price. Matthew |

Always use the standard post office for international shipping -- otherwise the recipient may be hit with customs charges etc. Its no use getting the package there in record time for $2 USD less if the recipient then has to pay $100 USD in customs clearance, and drive to the other side of the city to pick the item up at a warehouse that is only open at inconvenient times. I have had this drummed in to me in so many variations so many times! |

$25 USD for a pound to OZ isn't really reasonable in my book, but you do get a little insurance coverage with that. A shame the USPS took away the option of 1st Class Mail, and adding insurance to that. You can send via 1st Class still, but there's no tracking or recourse, if you stuff goes missing. Cheaper than going via courier though. |

USPS. Well, technically there is tracking for First Class to Oz. Although for some countries, after rolling it out, the USPS has pulled back on it. The problem I have had is that once it leaves the USA, the requirement by Aussie Post to scan at the different points in Australia is not always completed which can be frustrating. |

The customs charges issue doesn't apply to Oz: any parcels up to the value of AUS$1000 get through impost-free (I'd have appended a smiley emoticon if my days of placing big orders weren't behind me). |
