Can someone check I have got this right:

Platoon HQ: Officer + Bren + Carrier

3 Sections, each: 3 Carriers, 3 Brens, 1 Boys

So altogether 10 Brens, 3 Boys, 10 Carriers (1 of the Brens being operated by the officer).
I read somewhere about a Scout Car in the Platoon HQ & 2" mortar(s) in amongst the sections if anyone can clarify these last 2 points.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Bayonet Strength mentions a typical-for-a-platoon 15 cwt truck and driver as well. This doesn't really answer your question about the 2". It was not uncommon to find 2" mortars on carriers, but given the short supplies and chaotic conditions of 1940, I'd incline against.

My notes say "Carrier Platoon – HQ of one (or two c. late 1940/early 1941) carrier and two 15cwt trucks. Three (four by 1942) sections of three carriers. Each section had an A/T rifle or PIAT, and by 1941, a 2" mortar".

Ah, I think I may have created an amalgam of those two platoon types.

Thank you all.
