HAT miniatures occasionally offer pre production sprues of their output for a modest fee. I had a rush of blood to head and ordered a few. Amongst them were some German Colonial troops. Now as I happened, I don't have a great deal of interest in Tanga and the Germans in Africa, but they were very nice figures and it seemed a shame to let them go to waste. With that in mind, I did a few minor conversations (cutting away some of the more military looking kit) and painted them up as a sort of Civilian Volunteers. I reckon they should from the Mutiny to the early 1900s with a bit of squinting. You can get a look at them here. link |
