I have a fairly healthy collection of Musket Miniatures ACW 15mm, so the pending sale of the range isn't too devastating to that project. However, there are a few more packs/figures I'd like to acquire. If the new owner of the range doesn't get cracking, can Stone Mountain figures serve as a decent substitute? How do the two ranges – Musket Miniatures and Stone Mountain – compare?

Thanks in advance!

Same sculptor I believe so they are of a similar style and poses. I think they would mix well.

Definitely the same sculptor. The style and size are very similar.

There is absolutely no difference that I can see.

Both were done by Mr. Jim McCarron. They match well with 3rd generation Minifigs, as well.

Jim and I formed Stone Mountain Miniatures in 1981. He did the original masters for the ACW line. In 1990 he left to form his own company. All additional figures, as well as upgrades of the originals, from then on have been designed by me using the dolls he originally made. Hence the common ancestry for both lines.

Thanks, gentlemen – that's very helpful.

Dave, I'll likely be placing an order in the near future!

Now that Musket Miniatures is closing does anyone know if someone has picked up the rights to the 22mm ACW line and if so when they might be available again?

Olaf,
The Musket Miniatures 22mm ACW line is available from Kris Kaonis at P.O. Box 3243, Idyllwild, CA 92549.
