Whoever invented golf? It has a lot bigger fan base than our little wars.

I don't know of any Scottish game designers?

JimDuncanUK07 May 2015 3:25 a.m. PST

There's only one answer if we are talking about wargames.

Pretty much ignore nationality. A good design is a good design.

Are we talking about game designers who are Scottish or designers of Scottish games?

This is what happens when a language loses its declensions.

What an odd question.

There are certainly a number of Border Reaver miniatures games. I am not informed enough to vote on which designer did the best one.

Barry Hilton is Scottish, too.

Thought you were after the 'best' Bill?

Barry may be good but come on, Charles Grant!

If I remember correctly, a certain Robert Louis Stevenson was very interested in wargames – maybe he designed some rules for himself!?

Best at being Scottish or the best at designing games?

Zargon08 May 2015 9:25 a.m. PST

McJimmy's Battle of Culloden board game, this comes with a bottle of scotch and a loaded pistol, no Englishmen are allowed to purchase or play the game ;) although I have it on authority a few have pretended to be Scots with predictable results in the playing :) (no, no slurs intended to my cousins gents) actually there is a RPG game that is Scottish made called 'Slayer' ? If I recall correctly and believe for those that do the RPG thing a real grand fun game.

I spoke to Barry today, he wasn't quite sure what a games designer was :)

Weasel09 May 2015 2:37 p.m. PST

Do we get to do the best Danish designer? :)
