I certainly hope they fixed the wing issues. All i remember of these as a kid was that the wings never stayed on, the plastic tabs must have gotten weak over repeated "explosions". All the kids had the same problem :) |

@VonTed I still have my Kenner TIEs! Guess I didn't wear out the "exploding" wings. So, back to FFG's announcement: how is this different from the Wave 1 Advanced TIE (which I just used yesterday to trounce teen opponents in a demo game at my library)? Is it a rerelease? EDIT: Ah, it's included with the Imp. Raider big vessel. So, basically, it's the same model with two more pilot cards. Not much to preview, all things considered. |

@Parzival – There's actually a parcel of new upgrade cards as well, which is really what folks are going crazy over, and two other pilots. The main article is here: link The TIE X1 'title' plus stuff like Advanced Targeting Computer is going to a massive boost to the Tie Advanced. I'm particularly looking forward to Marek Steele + TIE X1 + Advanced Targeting computer to take better advantage of his pilot ability. -Will |

Yeah, the point of this pack is the make the x1 competitive again. A bit like Scum and Villainy and the Y-Wing. |

Mmm… The (brand new) Imperial Raider corvette was thought as an antifighter vessel, capable of striking targets which are defended by small craft. As such, and being autonomous and able to do jumps into hyperspace by its own, the Advanced is a logical companion to it. One can guess that even if the Advanced escort fighters are not able to link with the Raider (Gozanti style), them being hyperspace able too allows for them being detached alongside Raider corvettes for short jumps-missions which don't qualify for full destroyer attention. |
