Thanks but unfortunately I'll need more inspiration than that. I've got hundreds of HYW/WOTR figures all sitting in their boxes. I'm more of a uniform painter using an assembly line process. Individual liveries and heraldry have got me stymied. |

Medieval people liked bright and strong colours, but their dyes were (mostly) pretty poor and therefore prone to fading. Given that in any large group of people some will have relatively new clothes (bright and strong colours) and good many will not (faded and muted colours) anything goes for colours and shades, though (iirc…it's been a long time since I was looking at this stuff) – black and purple were rather expensive and relatively uncommon.. |
