Several months ago, I promised in the Swedish gaming section to post when my game was ready. It will go to print next month.

The delay was caused by a decision with some of my Swedish contacts to put an international publication of articles together in English and in color on the Great Northern War. We are finalizing that as well in the next couple of months. It has been a full year project. There will be 71 articles with almost 50 book authors, academics and other experts on the Great Northern War writing articles. They are from Sweden, Denmark, Russia, Poland, Germany, Finland, the Ukraine, the UK and the US. A couple of them frequent this site. I posted a preliminary flyer here: link

At the top of that page is a link to my website that has an email sign up sheet for those who are interested. I will be doing a limited print run.

The link does not seem to be working. Here it is again:

If it still does not work, the page can be found by going to the Consimworld website, go to CSW Forum, then to Game Company Support, then to The Historical Game Company.

neither link works…

The links don't work and when I followed your guide I couldn't find any reference to the book/magazine.. Why don't you let us know when the book and game are actually ready.

rmaker03 May 2015 7:55 p.m. PST

The links aren't working because there is a period at the end.

Following MAker's clue (because I tried on my own and couldn't find it) – I followed the link – let it get an error message, then just deleted the period – the link worked then

Thanks Mark. Sorry for the confusion. That makes perfect sense. Sometimes it is the simple things.

I will be adding content, art examples and article author information about the GNW book on my Facebook page so check there for updates if interested. I won't update here again until publication in late August.

I also am adding a chapter on Museums, reenactors, games and miniature manufacturers in the book. I have heard from several who want to be included and will include them in the book with contact information and range/scale information. There were more than I originally thought!

I may be doing the GNW in 3mm shortly, so I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for this one. I hope there are some articles on formations and the use of pikes!

I think this is a very cool project. Best of luck!

Forwardmarchstudios – yes, Einar Lyth wrote an article on Swedish battle tactics.

I just wanted to move this to the top of the board in case someone has missed it. This looks to be certainly the best book in English on the GNW from a wargamer's perspective, or perhaps any perspective. If you are interested in the GNW and the book, let Stever know. There is no obligation AFAIK.

The info on his Facebook page is great: link

I have no economic interest in this project and do not know those involved personnaly. I'm just a guy who is going to buy a copy.
