Probably one of the most even battles I have played in a long time. Roman attackers vs. Celtiberian defenders, solo game of DBA 2.2. Tons of pictures at

Thanks for the info. Sounds good. I will give this a try with DBA 3.

In the Roman 7th bound, the Roman general Cav (+4) attacks what appears to be a Warband. General throws 3 but is overlapped so only total of 6. Wb rolls 4 +2 vs mounted =6. Why did Wb recoil, it seems a tie? Did not matter as the Wb counterattacks with the LH hitting Roman Gen on flank. A very tight squeeze getting past Threat Zone of the Cav to the LH right.

Then in Roman 8th the Iberian General Cav (+4) is hit in front by Blades (+3) but with an overlap and a flank -2 so net 2. Blade rolls 3 and Gen rolls 4 so should be a tie? The Gen might then have stayed in contact with another killer combat next bound. Could he survive twice :)

Did you just decide to quit with 4 losses for each side? Rules allow you to continue until one side has lost more. Loss of general will make moving a problem, however.

The DBA 3 list converts the Wb to Blades for the Celtiberians. I wonder how that would play out

II/39b Celtiberian Army: 1 x General with long-shield cavalry (Cv), 1 x round shield cavalry (LH), 6 x scutarii (3Bd), 4 x caetrati (Ps).
Terrain Type: Hilly. Aggression: 0.

Hello

Hmm, good points.I cannot remember now :p

I just called it because 17 bounds is quite long. And as you said without their general the CeltIberians would have a hard time avoiding a 5th loss.

Interesting change. It would be interesting to see how that plays out.

Nice report! Thank you very for sharing it.
I especially like your simple but effective terrain. The woods and hill look really good. Which material have you used for the terrain surface?
Regards,
Cesar.
