I am working on armies for Harry Turtledove's WorldWar where the aliens invade in the middle of WWII. One of the elements I will be doing will be Skorzeny serving with major Jager. Of Skorzney will probably be in a paratrooper dress, but Major Jager was a panzer commander whose MkIII was knocked out, so what would be the best dress to depict him in? If it helps, this scenario was not immediately after his panzer was knocked out. Thanks for any suggestions or references, Terry |

I have read the books years ago, good books, he would look something like this.I would use a dismounted Panzer crew from Battle Front or Peter Pig.

Panzer crews loved their black uniforms – maybe black pants and a camo jacket |

Thank you all for your replies. I decided to go back and reread that section where hey made the attack with the Russian partisans, and I have a distinct feeling that jager was wearing a "civilian suit of cheap cloth" when he made the raid, but also was wearing a helmet – which is not defined as being Russian or German, so I am going to guess German due to the later description in the same scenario of the German driver of the wagon who was wearing a Russian overcoat, but a German fatigue cap. Skorzney is described as wearing SS camo. Now to find the right figures, which I should be able to do even if needing to convert them. Thanks again, Terry |
