I am in the middle of Louis S. Gerteis' book "The Civil War in Missouri – A Military History, and I would recommend it. It is well written and describes Missouri's ACW history militarily instead of the usual guerilla war discussions. There was both kinds of warfare going on in Missouri. The book talks about battles with a few thousand down to a few hundred on a side. It provides some good ideas for 28mm scenarios that would fit on my 6 X 8 foot table. I don't game but I will use the ideas for my diorama type scenes that I set up.
