SPOILERS galore in this site, but all based on speculation.

Personally, I find this intriguing. As a Book 5 Pedant, I am glad to see HBO throwing out useless filler material.
This is a total change, and I like it.
Revenge on the Boltons needs to come from much closer than in the books.
We need to redeem Theon's soul too. Well, maybe not.
"Honest, Sansa! I didn't burn your brothers! They were just peasants!"

I am enjoying Season 5 a lot more now that I can happily swill beer while shouting "That's not in the damn books!" I am just as surprised as everybody else. grin

By the way, I REALLY want to hear this: "Though mayhaps this was a blessing. Had he lived he would have grown up to be a Frey."
Truly I do. grin

If not from Wyman Manderly, SOMEBODY!

Quite interesting John!.

This season seems to be the revenge of the daughters.
From Stark and from the Spanish Guy (don't remember the name)

What about Littlefinger, I don't get his game. I was hoping he "took" Sansa as his woman in replace of his mother. But seems nothing happened between them (?).

Theon can change of shirt in any moment. He can be mad but he remember…

The guy I hate was the partner of Bolton in the murder of the "King of the North". That one who has horrible daughters. Are there revenge against him in the books?

Finally, we see how difficult was for the "King of the North" to manage with the Lords of his country when he replace his father and begin his campaign. Brave and semi barbarians liders. So, how could a man as Bolton command them?. He is not a Stark and as the Lannisters are out, imho the North Lords never accepted him as a ruler.
I'm wrong?

And what about Tehon father/sister/Army?. There were in the process of taking great part of the "North" (at least the coast). No more fighting there?.

I like Barateon as King, but probably he went down. He don't move his Army and this is a mistake. With such huge Cavalry he can made a good fight against the weak Bolton "Army".

I know… I know… so many questions. (smile)

Arya Stark is being trained as a top assassin. Question though: who's she gonna waste? Everybody on her list?

I'm way behind… I haven't watched season 4 yet and I'm avoiding season 5 altogether. I have to finish reading book 4 first (Arya just made it to the House of Black and White in the book). I will be happy as long as Arya becomes the badass and kills everyone remaining on her list, as well as a few others. I'm not a fan of Sansa yet… she is just filler in my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong, and we'll see as I progress in my reading, but for now, I'm on Team Arya!!!

The Beast Rampant01 May 2015 7:12 a.m. PST

she is just filler in my opinion

That could describe half the characters in the books. I'm sure somebody has made a list somewhere of every SoIaF character who went out for a pack of smokes, and never came back.

Winston Smith01 May 2015 8:28 a.m. PST

Arya has cut her list to 4. Walder Frey is #3 I think.
I'm just curious how she got the news on the Mountain, Tywin and a few others. Some, she has personally had a hand in. But the others off her list… In her isolated state, where did she get the news?

doug redshirt01 May 2015 10:26 a.m. PST

Instead of a Red Wedding I am hoping for a Grey Wedding were the stark supporters get a little revenge. The actress who plays Sansa has leaked there will be another blood bath type event with her character.

I think Little finger would rather be using Sansa then the Boltons. So I think he has something planned.

Winston Smith01 May 2015 11:36 a.m. PST

Invite all the Freys to her wedding to Ramsay Bolton ne Snow?

The North remembers.

Mithmee01 May 2015 4:34 p.m. PST

Everybody on her list?

She has a very long list as well.

Though by the time she gets done with her training many that are on it will already have been taken of by someone else.

Winston Smith01 May 2015 5:20 p.m. PST

Here's an interesting speculation.
Stannis's plan is to take Winterfell from the Boltons. In Book 5, that is his plan also. Hardly a SPOILER. What if he takes Winterfell , giving us our bloodbath, and rescues Sansa. How will Brienne's vow to protect Sansa reconcile with her vow/desire to kill Stannis in revenge for Renly?

In book 5, Stannis is eager to marry off all the local noble girls, including "Wildling princesses" to his followers as rewards. Sansa?

Whatever. I hope a lot of Freys and Boltons bite the dust. We need more feel good happy moments.
Maybe Brienne can slay Ramsay. Wouldn't that be nice?

Kraken Skulls Consortium01 May 2015 6:05 p.m. PST

I get the distinct feeling that the altered story line with Sansa is why they removed Lady Stoneheart from the show.

At first I was pretty upset that they pulled her from the show, but if this is the direction they are going, it could be all right. I guess we'll see.

Perhaps Sansa should take up bakeing, particularly pie making!

Somehow I don`t think involving her with Ramsey Bolton is a smart idea though.
Streamlining plots is fine but combining multiple major threads going in different directions on a single character could go badly wrong and change the whole direction the TV story is going in.
Consider the abuse Peter Jackson is getting currently for the changes/additions to the Hobbit films.
The same sort of thing could very easily happen to the GoT TV series with them loosing a large segment of their audience.

Winston Smith02 May 2015 4:41 a.m. PST

I don't see them losing much of the audience for not following the books. 100%. The tv audience is 10 times larger than the book readers.
I applaud most of the changes, particularly the abandonment of many pointless plot arcs.

Dynaman878902 May 2015 5:45 a.m. PST

Dittoing Winston there. The last couple books added a ton of needless characters and plot arcs, snipping them was not only good it was probably required. GoT already has a massive cast and adding more would not help things.
