There will be a special memorial to the fallen members and we would like someone to play Taps. Any takers?

A nice idea.

This will be a HCon, during the LOH meeting. (details….)

check with a local National Guard Battalion, each state has some trumpets that play taps….the player just holds it up to simulate actually playing. Maybe they will let you borrow one.

Is this for fallen veterans or just died hmgs members? One I dont mind the other I find offensive to every veteran.

When is the ceremony? Day? Time?

Most likely in tribute to John Hill. He had a long career in the CIA.

Just an idea. I worked in music for 30 years and live close to an army post and national cemetery. Local high schools often provide trumpet players for ceremonies and funerals. Contacting the local high school soon (before summer break) would be a good idea. They have even preformed the echo effect by having two players in different spots. That is very moving! Good luck.

I think doug is right, its a gaming convention.

I'm not sure a gaming convention is the proper venue for a memorial service. I don't attend Historicon so I really don't have a say. I know if this was done at Cold Wars or Fall In I would be turned off by it.

I agree with doug on this. A moment of silence is appropriate.

A moment of silence would be best. Thanks for the input.
