Well that's all very encouraging but why has publicity been low key to non existent? People I spoke to at Salute were asking if anyone had heard if the show was even going to be on this year or not. What's happening about people putting on games at the show? |
Gwydion | 01 May 2015 2:24 a.m. PST |
And now you can tell them it is and point them to the Club website which says it is colours.org.uk/colours I'm guessing it has taken time to decide to be a one day vice two day event, get the venue sorted on a new arrangement and get sufficient commitment from traders. Great news that it's on again. Looking forward to it. |

Great news it's back, second shopping event of the year! |
Tonysilvey | 01 May 2015 6:51 a.m. PST |
After a year off publicity hasn't been great, sorry. I'm new into the traders post and spaces are filling up on that side. A new website is in production but for now the old one will have all the basics on. Trajanus, email me about club/demo games at tonysilvey@outlook.com and I'll pass it on. Looking forward to seeing you all there :) |

Thanks Tony, I'm assuming we are still talking about the Racecourse as the venue, right? |

"N&RWG are pleased to share that Colours will run in 2015. The big change is that it will move to a one day format rather than the two day show that we've run previously. This change is a really important one as it is driven by our desire to bring a high quality show with all the best traders and demonstration games. Colours will be on Saturday 12th September 2015 at Newbury Race Course". |

Tony, any chance of listing demo/participation games too? I and some colleagues are booked (we hope) to help Bruce Wiegle put on a demo FPW game. |

I'm afraid that I don't have a list of those to put up at the moment. I'll see if I can get one! Tony |

Trajanus Did you not notice the information RM put up is from the club site for which I previously put up the link? I was being helpful. |

It is interesting that the one day is the Saturday rather than Sunday. Is this a deliberate choice in order to get better attendance, or was it more convenient for the venue? Salute is always on a Saturday as well, of course. This is slightly irritating for me as I work on a Saturday and have to faff about booking the day off. I would guess more people work Saturday than Sunday? By contrast, in the car world Sunday is the most popular day to hold events! Sorry about the whinge. You can't please all the people etc…. |

Gwydion, Only noticed after I posted. Frankly the website is not a lot of use which I assume is why Tony said its being replaced. Personally, I would have thought that would have been the first thing to fix but there you are. Irony for me is that one of the three games shown at the bottom of the page is an Ancients game we put on last time we were there four or five years ago! |

I tried to get there today but was defeated by traffic. I'd prefer a Sunday slot when I could get there in an hour! |
Stuart at Great Escape Games | 12 Sep 2015 4:49 p.m. PST |
It was a magnificent show! Well done to the organisers and to the great numbers that attended the show. |
NRWS Organiser | 14 Sep 2015 4:47 a.m. PST |
Thank-you, Stuart. I'd like to think that we did fairly well for a novice team, and a number of lessons have been learned. There should be further news on this board next month. |
