Painting Battle Honour's NKVD Command

We may be sending these WWII Russian figures off to Vancouver for painting, but they'll eventually reach Thailand - because that's where DJD Miniatures conducts operations...

Am I right in thinking the only one actually in use was the German Flammenwerfer 35?

Next question, what units used it? Engineer and/or Fallschirmjager?

You are right – the Flammenwerfer 41 was not issued until 1941

Given that most fallschrimjaeger in 1940 actually jumped out of airplanes, I do not believe they would be using it – especially as it weighted 36 kg (80 lb)

Believe that they did at Fort Eben-Emael.

Dan, you're correct, they used it at Eben Emael, but the assault was glider-borne, not parachute.

Yes, but what did the French use?

LesCM1901 May 2015 4:19 a.m. PST

The French had them as well but apparrently were kept in storage as they looked on them as assault, ie attacking weapons for which they had no use on the battlefield

Ah! Forgot about the gliders

Right you are
