Hello all

I got a scenario I want to run. Here are the details see what you all think an any ideas are welcomed.

Late war Germany the Russians an Brits, an Americans pushing thru Germany are on a race to knock out the Maus tanks.

My plan is for the Americans to have like 20 Pershings Russians 20 JS2 vs 2 Maus an 10 King tigers. Of course the Germans are on defense, an the Allies are coming from both flanks. The rules set I'm using makes it hard for even JS3 an Pershings to punch the Maus fronts so side an rear shots are the key. The Pershings JS3 vs King tigers are more closely even.

I was also going to throw in some things like the Russians if they wish along with the Brits an Americans can shot one another, but key goal is whoever knocks out the Maus's first gets Victory points.

Some other thoughts an ideas I had where.

1.) A CY6 game before hand to see who rules the skys overhead, maybe whoever does gets a couple ground attacks.

Things I need some help with.

1.) Does anyone have info or map of the proving grounds where the Maus where tested an stored at?

2.) What late war British tank would be a good add in if I want too?

3.) Do you all think the ratio is fair or not enough?

Any other ideas are welcomed.

The ratio might be fair but I think you have to game it out

For the British tank, I would use the Centurion – which as I recall in the Mk I version with a 17 pdr was fielded in May 1945

I don't think you'd need to game out who has control of the air by that point in the war, maybe just whether or not the Allies get disturbed even a little.

Tank porn anyone ?

Once the Maus was located, I think the allies would just bomb the bejeezus out of it, instead of sending tanks after it.

Also, there's this – the minimum armor thickness on the Maus is greater (at least according to Wikipedia) than the MAXIMUM thickness on a Tiger II. Even a rear shot from close range would be chancy.

Its a what if scenario just for a fun game, using equipment that really rarely get used at all.

We made the Maus just being assembled, therefore had to spend a random number of turns before it became operable, and then was subject to breakdown if it moved.

You should do a search for Meppen which is where most of the German weapon testing was done. This is all I could find:
