I think Space Hulk (Old Version) is one of the most amusing games I have ever played. Thanks for publishing your report. You have put me the desire of going to my cellar and take the box for playing a game:-)

Cheers guys, @Sharpe, yep GW produced some great games in the late 1980s, Space Hulk and Blood Bowl for instance. Very playable and really enjoyable! |

Looks good! I like the Denizen miniatures – very approriate. I also like the genestealers as is. The all black gives them a sinister look. I did something similar, but had to start from scratch as Space Hulk was, at that time, very out of print and I didn't care to pay whatever the going rate was then. I did a mash-up using a downloaded copy of the Space Hulk rules & missions, Horrorclix Aliens (I got a few boxes when they were readily available), WotC Star Wars stormtroopers, some Gale Force 9 tokens for Starship Troopers, and homemade tiles & doors. |

Thanks guys, I am glad you all liked it! Forager, the black will be drybrushed with silvery grey, to make them more like the Aliens from the films, much more frightening than the purple and blue colours… |

Sam, we played it as in the rule book, the only difference being that it didn't cost Marines a point to turn left or right, as it does with Terminators. Ninjasaurus tells me that he has all the old White Dwarfs with the extra rules for other races and weapons, so we'll be cherry picking those as we need them. Apparently there is a Space Hulk bible somewhere on the internet, which gathers all the extras together, but I cam not going to search for it and link it in case GW come down on me with a lawsuit… :D |

I forgot, there was one rule mod, which was the shot gun armed Marine. The shotgun had a range of 4 squares, but added +2 to the Marine's dice roll for close combat. It only had eight shots as well. |

Craig Ambler: Because selling endless over-packaged expansions of full color cardboard and collectable components is where the money is. Sad really. Abwehrschlacht: I have done this, too! Spacehulk IS AlIens… The whole game just feels right when 'Terminator' minis are replaced with 'Colonial Marines'minis… I also painted my 'Stealers black with a grey/silver drybrush!!! I am now trying to replace my long gone genestealers, but nobody seems to make anything like an 'xeno' in 28mm… I keep playing with the idea of using Khurasan's excellent 15mm 'space demons' (and marines), but 28mm is much more appealing…. Good Show! |
